Looking Good:)

Today, baby Chloe was head down and a whopping 5 lbs. 4 ounces! My low lying placenta FINALLY is resolved as the placenta is now 3 cm from the cervix. It should be at least two and last time measured at 1 cm away. Basically, the significance of this is there isn't really a reason at the present time for a c section! Yay! Chloe was practicing breathing during the ultrasound (the tech told us this) and she opened her mouth twice! I only gained a pound since my last appointment two weeks ago, which will put me at a total weight gain of a whole lot! My midwife is happy with the weight gain though, so I am glad someone is. The extra weight makes work increasingly more difficult as it is hard to stand for long periods of time, which is definately something my job entails. The good news is that I only have to work five more weeks before my maternity leave begins (I am starting it at 38 weeks). The bad news is that I actually have to make it to this point and gain weight along the way... yikes! People at work have been great though and constantly ask if I am feeling okay and the other day one of the residents even log rolled a patient instead of having me do it. I tried to help a kid up the other day and the attending told me not to and had someone else- so they definately are looking out for the wellness of little Chloe. I am soooo tired all the time and fall asleep on the couch on a regular basis. Chloe is busy hiccuping and has the hiccups at least twice daily. I let a coworker, Mia, feel her doing it yesterday. We are looking forward to our baby shower at work tomorrow that is also for Crissy and her baby Lainey!

Baby Showers!!!

This week is an exciting week. On Wednesday, we are at 33 weeks! On Thursday, my mom is coming to town and we will get to see Baby Chloe again as I have another ultrasound! Lets hope she looks great and is growing like she should be. Friday is our first baby shower ever for Chloe at work! Then, Saturday, there will be a brunch baby shower for little Chloe given. I can't wait to see all the cute little girl things people have picked out for her!

9 1/2 weeks to go...

It is crazy to think Chloe will be here so soon. So much to do and so little time. She has gotten larger and usually does not kick, but pushes instead. It is a very odd sensation and I am really not sure which body part is pushing out, but it is definately some part of her. Occasionally she will push so far out that it is actually painful. She usually gets the hiccups at least once daily, which is a very odd sensation. I feel a little rhythmic vibration that lasts for a few minutes in my lower abdomen area. She reminds me often that she is inside me. We are so much closer to meeting her!

Definately pregnant... no doubt

So my mother has been asking for a pregnant picture as she lives near Miami, FL and has not had the opportunity to see me as I grow. I have neglected to take the weekly pictures of myself and Chloe growing and honestly didn't even take this one. This is a picture of me, Chloe, my friend Jennifer from nursing school and her baby Ryan. You certainly can't tell in this picture that she is a month more pregnant than me, but she is. She is due October 12. This was taken 8-29-09. So... here you go mom...I am 29 1/2 weeks pregnant and Jennifer is 33 weeks.

2 lbs. 4 oz.!

She is growing fast! Only 91 days left! I had an appointment yesterday and an ultrasound. They tried to get pictures of her in 4d, but she would not move her hand away from her face. I guess she is already shy. She measured an estimated weight of 2lbs. 4 oz. and her measurements were right at 27 weeks.

99 days to go!!!!!!!!!!

We are down to the double digits! Little Chloe Autumn (yes we agree on this name!) will be here in just 99 days if she comes on her due date. So much to do in those 99 days. Her room is still not ready- granted we have almost everything to put in there, but still plenty of cleaning to do as well as painting. Matt has went on an ebay frenzy and is selling things to make room for her. The countdown begins!

PINK it is!

Matt wanted to keep the nursery yellow as he says it would be easier and it still matches, however I have really wanted it to be pink. Tonight we made a bet on a tv show we watch and I won the bet. My winnings are a pink nursery. Hopefully he follows through and I get my reward!

Baby's new item...

We went to Essex in Nashville again today and picked up a Graco car seat base for the baby. This way if we get the car seat that we registered for, then we will have a base for each car. They had it at Essex for $19.99 (it sells at Target for $40). If you haven't noticed, we pay full price for just about nothing. They also had baby swings at Essex- a winnie the pooh one for $49.99 and another one that was Graco for $59.99. Much cheaper than the swings I registered for, so if we don't get a swing I will be going to Essex to get one if they have any in when we go. I am posting some beach pics from our recent vacation to Destin.

Matt's catch on his deep sea fishing trip aboard the boat Destiny. He actually caught more, but they had a limit on what you could bring back. 16 lbs. of fish!

P.S. The baby says if you visit the blog, please leave a comment! For some reason, it sometimes takes two tries to leave a comment.

Still nameless...

My name for the day... Chloe Autumn. A coworker named her Chloe months ago and has been calling her that from the day she knew I was pregnant. It wasn't my favorite name at first as I was the babysitter for a little girl named Chloe and the parents were extremely earthy people, which just isn't Matt or myself. I also didn't like that it has been in the top 10 girl names recently, but it continues to grow on me. This morning (okay really afternoon as I don't currently do mornings) I had a breakthrough and knew that had to be her name. I presented it to Matt and all I got was maybe. Grrrrr!!!!! Will this baby ever have a name?

24 weeks and counting!

It is so hard to believe that Baby Girl Crowley should make her debut in about 110 days! She is growing larger, which means so am I. I have officially had 3 strangers ask how far along I am- so I must be past the are you fat or pregnant stage.
We still have lots of cleaning to do and need to get her room ready, but she has a crib and crib bumper and dust ruffle (the set previously posted) along with crib mattress (which I must brag about my Essex find- a brand new Serta crib matress for $39.99!) and a glider and changing table. She also has a stroller for when she gets a little bigger (you guessed it- DEAL! Half price at Target because someone purchased it online and returned it to the store where they usually don't carry it so $35!)

and a high chair, which I am debating on whether or not to keep.

I even got her a pack and play, which was another deal- found it at Marshalls on sale for $39. It is a Disney pack and play- so one thing not pink.
Matt has banned me from shopping for her until the room is ready, so he doesn't know about this blog just yet as he says we don't have room until I clean out.
I am super excited about the baby and even more excited to get her room ready. Just dreading the cleaning of the black hole of a guest room/ storage/ junk room. I registered today at Target. I must admit that I don't really care what she gets (meaning I won't be heart broken if she doesn't get the exact pacifier or blanket I registered for). I just put general things on the registry that we need. I have gradually purchased diapers and I am not really sure how many of each size she needs, so I didn't register for those, but I did register for wipes. To see what I picked out: http://www.target.com/registry/baby/1Y7H1GUYH32B3
One thing I hope someone gives her is the cutest ever newborn outfit to take her home in as I haven't been able to find that perfect outfit myself. What we need most is a car seat.
We are still working on a name. The top contenders for today are Autumn Olivia and Ashlyn Marie. I think Matt has taken my pick of Aubrey out of the running. I tried to convince him again today to name her Olivia Hope, without success. Knowing us, she will end up with a name completely different as that is what happened with both Elvis and Fonzie.
I had another ob appointment today. We had a scare a few weeks ago at our 20 weeks ultrasound where the tech announced that I have a low lying posterior placenta. We didn't have an appointment with the midwife until today, so I was convinced that this was a major problem. Today the midwife said that unless there is any unexplained bleeding, the placenta should not be an issue and should not affect anything, which was a relief to hear. Our next ultrasound is August 11. It is really to make sure the placenta is okay, but hopefully we will get a peek at the baby.
I will try to post our 20 week ultrasound pictures a little later.

Growing strong...

Baby Crowley's heart beat was beating strong. We had a quick prenatal appointment today and everything seems to be on track. Just waiting to get the 20 week ultrasound next week and be at the official halfway mark! Names we are pondering on... Autumn, Aubrey, and Ashlyn. I don't know why we are stuck on A names as we aren't using a book... odd.

What's in a name?

Little baby Crowley is without a name. My number 1 pick was Olivia Hope, but Matt doesn't like that name. The only names he has suggested for her are: October (when we did not know our due date) and Autumn Marie or Autumn Olivia. He has not turned down the name Aubrey, so that could be a possibility. We have 22 weeks to decide. Hard to believe she will be here so soon. My next doctor's appointment is on Tuesday, June 16 where I will hear her heartbeat again. Pretty exciting!! Our next ultrasound will be June 23. I can't wait to see her on screen again.

Baby Crowley is getting bigger!

After much convincing, I told Matt that I simply cannot wait until 20 weeks to find out the sex of the baby. Of course, the thing I wish for most is that the baby arrives and is healthy... but you must admit, you too are curious about the sex of this little one. We are checking with others to see if May 28 will be a good date for his parents and my grandparents and maybe Aunt Jill and GREAT Aunt Joyce to see the little one on screen. I can hardly wait! Lets just hope he or she is in a good position so they have no trouble telling the sex. We are having a tough time with names, so hopefully after we know what sex to expect we can think of something. Since my last post, we went to the doctor and had our first official ultrasound. The baby was very active with a heart rate of 152. Our due date is November 11 or November 12 depending on who you ask... the ultrasound machine said we were 11 weeks and one day and the tech said our due date is November 11. However, when the doctor put the official ultrasound read into the computer, it was put in as 11 weeks exactly, which makes the due date November 12. I know chances of having the baby on either of these dates are slim, so for my personal preference, I have decided to go with November 11 as 11-11 sounds pretty neat and really easy for Matt to remember. I posted some pictures. I have no idea why they are sideways and not to blog savvy so any tips to turn them the right way would be appreciated.

Grandma Crowley is so excited!!

cute cake for Grandma Crowley

Last night we went to my mother in law's house for her surprise 60th birthday party. Jill (Matt's sister) and her friend Judy had planned the whole thing out and boy was she surprised! She made sure that everyone knew that she was going to be a grandma! She is super excited and cannot wait for the baby's arrival. So far, I hear she wants a girl and her sister wants a girl. Matt's sister says it is a boy. I would love a girl, but just hope we make it all the way with a healthy little one. Many weeks left... I will try to post some pictures of the party if I can figure out how to.

Our new addition!

After several weeks of being nauseous, a fellow coworker convinced me to take a pregnancy test and I found out we are having our first baby! Matt didn't believe it a first, but after two more positive tests we both thought it was pretty likely. I have had an "unofficial" ultrasound that confirmed correct placement and cardiac movement of the baby (sorry no copies of it), so we are now preparing for our new addition. Our first "official" ultrasound that will estimate our due date is scheduled for April 23.
Matt is so excited that he has already bought the baby its first clothes. He bought 6 Auburn onesies, so I guess he is determined for the baby will be an Auburn fan. He told me tonight that the baby needs a remote control car that it can fit on and he will duct tape it down to the car and control it. He has also mentioned that he hopes the baby likes GI Joes as he has saved his from childhood. I tried to explain that babies don't exactly come out playing, but he will catch on soon enough. He has been really cute about the whole thing.
I have not have the opportunity to be so excited as I spend a lot of time feeling sick. Everyone says it will pass and I cannot wait for that to happen. It is really hard to eat healthy when most food is not appealing. I have discovered and over the counter medication for nausea called Emetrol, which is safe during pregnancy. It has become my best friend along with the box of Cheerios on my night stand.
