Happy Birthday, Grandpa Bob!
I will try and get a cute picture a little later posted for grandpa Bob. Happy birthday, Grandpa Bob!!!! I hope today is a fun one for you and we will be thinking of you today!
Potty time!
I, like many of you, think the whole peeing on the potty thing was just a coincidence. But today, I really think it was on purpose! I was in the bathroom, and of course my little Chloe shadow was with me as mommy cannot be out of sight for more than .02 seconds. Chloe was grabbing her potty and pounding on the side, so I thought, Oh no... we cannot think this thing is a toy, so I put her on it. As soon as I did (seriously seconds after) she peed!!!! We celebrated with our yays and I proceeded to wipe her and clean the frog potty. She continued to play with it, so I stuck her back on it and she pooped! So, this will be the third time she has peed on it and the second time she has pooped with only one failed attempt at doing anything while being placed on it! Rock on my little 'princess' (as her grandma calls her)!
These days, Chloe is a busy little lady. She is crawling with speed and pulling up on everything. She dances (rather bounces up and down) to music and hums to it at times. Our only foods are still bananas, squash, and sweet potatoes. Trust me, we have tried peas, green beans, carrots, applesauce, and pears without success. She even vomited on our last attempt at carrots. She also eats the gerber puffs- we have only tried sweet potatoes and banana ones and of course the sweet potato ones are her favorite. She LOVES water! Bath time or swimming in the pool, she is happy! She loves to go outside- the child could be screaming at the top of her lungs and as soon as you step out the door she is silent with eyes wide open. She loves Fonzie (Elvis is fun too, but he is a bit aprehensive at times around her) and McKenzie the cat (although she sometimes runs away since Chloe forgets her nice pet and sometimes pulls on poor kitty's hair). Her favorite by far is still mommy. And of course she is my favorite as well!

Yay, Chloe!!!!!
Chloe peed on her potty for the first time today! I unwrapped her potty and set it out today. Chloe was grabbing at it, so I sat her on it and not even a minute went by before she peed! Coincidence? Probably. But I'll take it! I then cheered for her and called daddy!

Playing with friends!!!
Chloe had a fun time playing with Ryan and Livy Kate today! Ryan has so many toys! It is hard to believe Livy is walking, Ryan is crawling and pulling up, and well... Chloe is trying. She can scoot from place to place and go in reverse, but she hasn't quite mastered the whole crawling thing just yet. As far as Chloe's things she can do... say mama, dada, hey, grrr (growl), ssss (hiss), stick out her tongue, shake her head no no, and blow out... Matt calls it toot noises. She feeds herself Gerber puffs- so far we have tried the sweet potatoes and bananas and she likes them both. Tonight, I gave her a piece of a real green bean and she didn't act like she disliked it, so we may try that again soon. She will only eat sweet potatoes, squash, and bananas, and sometimes peas if you sneak them in her sweet potatoes. She eats well, just picky about what. Our biggest accomplishment is she is FINALLY sleeping in her crib! Yay! She has slept through the night twice in it. We have been working on it for two or three weeks now, but we are definately making progress! She all of the sudden refused to sleep in her swing, so we were forced to make the transition.

Happy 7 months!!!
It is hard to believe Chloe is already 7 months old. It has been a while since I posted, so here is what she is doing these days...
Movement
she sits on her own- no crawling, but she lunges toward what she wants and is rolling around (she has been able to roll for months, but just now discovered it can get her where she wants so she actually does it). We took her to the pool on Wednesday and she clung to me at first until we put her in a float Ms. Mary Joe gave her and then she was kicking and happy. Then when we got her out she was kicking and splashing us with her hand. She loves the water!
Language
She has said dada and mama for a couple of months, but recently started growling- yes I said growling and hissing (sssssss- like a snake). She also does clicking noises with her mouth and shakes her head no.
Eating
As far as food... still breastfeeding (plan is for a year) and she eats small pieces of banana or baby food banana for breakfast, sweet potatoes or squash for lunch or dinner. She will eat peas if mixed with sweet potatoes and will tolerate apple sauce at times. She does not like carrots or green beans or chicken, however it has been a while since I reintroduced these foods, so we will try again at some point. She does not like the rice cereal and I tried several different ways many times, so we pretty much gave up on it. She eats in her highchair and I feed her with a spoon.
Sleeping
She takes 2 short 30 minute naps during the day and usually sleeps from 10pm to 9am. She still sleeps in her swing, which we need to work on, but at least it isn't in bed with me!
Playing
She has pretty much decided the jumperoo is no longer fun and now loves her leapfrog learning table, which we have leaning forward on two legs. She likes playing with her pacifiers and her favorite toy is probably the monkey aunt Joyce made and gave her when we visited her in memphis.
Overall, as long as attention is involved, Chloe is a pretty happy baby!
Right now she is suffering from her first cold that started on Monday. She has been congested and coughing. Thankfully no fever, but she really doesn't seem to mind it. She has been acting the same... just snotty.
We took our first road trip June 11 to Memphis to visit aunt Joyce. I drove at night and she slept the whole way. She had fun playing with Joyce's dogs and going to the mall. We didn't do much as it was so hot, but still had a good time visiting!

Happy 12 weeks!
How time flies! Chloe is 12 weeks old. She is so much fun now. She smiles most of the time. She loves to talk in her baby talk. She is so loud when she gets going that you can't hear the tv over her! She decided a couple of weeks ago to start sucking on her hand. She will put her whole hand except for her thumb in her mouth. Her favorite toys are still her bouncy chair and play gym. Her favorite thing to do (other than eat) is be talked to. She watches tv, which will hopefully change when she can move around! We absolutely love her to pieces!

7 weeks old and my birthday!

Yesterday, Chloe turned 7 weeks old. How fast the time goes by. Hard to believe she is getting older so quickly. Chloe smiles and cooes often. Her favorites are taking naps in her swing and playing in her Boppy vibrating seat. She is still breast fed and doing well. She loves bath time. To make 7 weeks memorable, Chloe pooped in her bathtub for the first and hopefully last time. She wears size 1 diapers and 0-3 months clothes. Sadly we had to say goodbye to the newborn clothes last week. The arms and legs are now to short.
Today is my birthday. We stayed at home as usual and did nothing out of the ordinary, but I was happy to spend the day with my favorite little lady! She woke me up this morning with a big smile on her face!

Today is a special day!
Chloe was sad she couldn't spend the day with her grandma, so we made a short video for her. Enjoy!
