It is hard to believe Chloe is already 7 months old. It has been a while since I posted, so here is what she is doing these days...
Movement
she sits on her own- no crawling, but she lunges toward what she wants and is rolling around (she has been able to roll for months, but just now discovered it can get her where she wants so she actually does it). We took her to the pool on Wednesday and she clung to me at first until we put her in a float Ms. Mary Joe gave her and then she was kicking and happy. Then when we got her out she was kicking and splashing us with her hand. She loves the water!
Language
She has said dada and mama for a couple of months, but recently started growling- yes I said growling and hissing (sssssss- like a snake). She also does clicking noises with her mouth and shakes her head no.
Eating
As far as food... still breastfeeding (plan is for a year) and she eats small pieces of banana or baby food banana for breakfast, sweet potatoes or squash for lunch or dinner. She will eat peas if mixed with sweet potatoes and will tolerate apple sauce at times. She does not like carrots or green beans or chicken, however it has been a while since I reintroduced these foods, so we will try again at some point. She does not like the rice cereal and I tried several different ways many times, so we pretty much gave up on it. She eats in her highchair and I feed her with a spoon.
Sleeping
She takes 2 short 30 minute naps during the day and usually sleeps from 10pm to 9am. She still sleeps in her swing, which we need to work on, but at least it isn't in bed with me!
Playing
She has pretty much decided the jumperoo is no longer fun and now loves her leapfrog learning table, which we have leaning forward on two legs. She likes playing with her pacifiers and her favorite toy is probably the monkey aunt Joyce made and gave her when we visited her in memphis.
Overall, as long as attention is involved, Chloe is a pretty happy baby!
Right now she is suffering from her first cold that started on Monday. She has been congested and coughing. Thankfully no fever, but she really doesn't seem to mind it. She has been acting the same... just snotty.
We took our first road trip June 11 to Memphis to visit aunt Joyce. I drove at night and she slept the whole way. She had fun playing with Joyce's dogs and going to the mall. We didn't do much as it was so hot, but still had a good time visiting!
